So, sad as it seems, I have not yet had a coffee to beat Starbucks here, and although we drove through a town called Costa, alas.... no coffee shop with said name!
The service stations on the A10 have, by far, the worse coffee, with a YUCK leaving my lips! Yes I said "YUCK" to coffee!!
Its difficult to get a decent cafe latte here, if thats what you ask for you get a shot of something resembling mud and a small glass of cold water to wash it down. Cappacino is the way to go when in Italy, although I am yet to get one in a decent size mug bigger than a timble. caio for now x
Coffee Shops 2,3,4 and so on
So after my first sad coffee experience I went on the hunt for the best coffee, and I am sorry to say, that thus far,Starbucks (in Frankfrut)is winning.!! Although, if you look through the pictures you will see a completely empty coffee mug. This I give 6/10.. for the coffee and an extra 2 points purely for the glass (shame I did not have a bigger handbag) This coffee I had in Triberg, as we walked up the hill to the waterfall. Its hard to keep track of all the bad cups of coffee, there have been so many, but so far, only 2 maybe 3 decent cups, and 2 of those were starbucks.... BUT I have not come across a costa yet, so things may change once we are over the Alpes (we set off for them tomorrow) and into Italy... so seriously, If I dont get a good cup of coffee there I am heading home early! cya all for now xx
Coffee Shop 1 – Cafe Liebfrauenberg
So as you can imagine, aircraft coffee is.... well, aircraft quality to be honest, so I was not only looking forward to stretching the old legs, but also to parking my butt down at a table on the pavement, and have a coffee!... works out it was a tad chilly to be sat outside, but we did find a decent looking cafe. The Cafe Liebfrauenberg was decorated in a deep red colour, very warming, and has a fab chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. The seating was comfortable and relaxed. As the Cafe Liebfrauenberg served beer as well as coffee, two happy fuller’s you would think!
NO.... one of us was happy... guess which one!!

The coffee was just warm, very milky, and ½ a cup of froth! Although better than “aircraft” coffee, it did nothing to abate my yearning for some decent caffeine. We will try again tomorrow, in the mean time I will have to settle for Vodka & Orange in the Hotel Bar!! Oh woe is me ...hehehehe
